It is with a heavy heart and deep sadness we inform you of the passing of Chef Vishnu Vasudev Joshi- our beloved Joshi Dada" Keeping Sarika and the girls and his entire family in our thoughts and prayers. We have all been reflecting a lot in the past few weeks about Vishnu and his journey and how Joshi chose to fight his cancer battle publicly, not privately. He could have fought it privately, he had every right to fight it privately, but instead he let us all in on his journey and he has taught us all so much. He was a trailblazer and was the chef who set us on an amazing journey in 1998 and gave it an amazing foundation at Jaipur Group. Dada, we will always be thankful for that. A man so generous with his knowledge and taught so many so well, who now trailblaze across Ireland and the world. The world is a smaller place without his big heart in it but thank God we got the chance to know Joshi Dada and have him amongst us for years. Sleep well Joshi Dada. #Jaipurteamstories- Chitrabir Bakabal Chef Chitrabir was Born in 1967 in Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal which is set in a valley surrounded by the Himalayas. He got his flair for cooking from his mother who he considers as the chef who can still create magical food. Chitrabir’s first culinary job was at a leading 5-Star Indian hotel in New Delhi, he then moved to Muscat, Oman where gained experience in some of the most renowned Indian kitchens. He worked tremendously hard, rising through the hospitality ranks in Muscat and India, and eventually moved to Ireland in 1998. Chef Chitrabir is one of Jaipur’s founding team members and has been an integral part of the team since the beginning of George’s Street. He has successfully evolved the Jaipur brand through his 23 years by ensuring each dish's quality and taste is maintained across locations.
